Jerome Bretaudeau Gabbro Clos des Bouquinardieres Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2023 EARHARDT A timeless classicClos des Bouquinardieres is a parcel in Gorges planted in the early 1990s, on altered gabbro and clay with quartz. Direct pressing, spontaneous fermentation, and around 18 months of aging on fine lees in underground glass tile lined tanks without batonnage the wine is built on tension, not weight. This is Muscadet at its most serious: high end, age worthy, and a benchmark for what the appellation can do in the hands of a great vigneron.
