This is an original M1916 holster for the Colt M1911 by William H McMonies Co. In May of 1918, they received a contract for 25,000 M1916 holsters from the U. S. Government. They also produced scabbards and rifle slings. Given the small size of the contract, these are of the rarest M1916 holsters to find today. This example is in good service worn condition with the leather thong still tied around the body. It is
