Here we have a relic but most appealing English seige helmet from the English Civil War of the 1640s. Very heavily rusted, this may very well have been used as a funeral helmet from some church. It also may have been recovered long after the battles, possibly left in some barn. Very old helmets are so very hard to find that in the Victorian era, they were reproduced to fill the mansions of the "new rich" of the
