One of a Kind Group. This is the uniform grouping of Lieutenant Mary Rich Peck, who served in the Army Nurse Corps during the war. She served overseas for over two years, from January 2nd, 1943 until November 21st, 1945. While serving on the Italian front, Peck performed a blood transfusion from herself to a dying soldier in a tiny field hospital on the front lines under enemy fire, saving his life. The soldier, laid still with jagged
