WWII army hatchet with it's original wooden haft, both now worn from use, with a great patina. The axe head is marked U. S. faintly, however wear and oxidation makes any other markings impossible to see. The head is firmly attached to the haft, with no wobble, though it has recently had a wooden wedge added to secure it. The head does show wear and sharpening, and has a notch on the top next
