This is a very nice fully functional small wrist compass, as worn by many U. S. soldiers during WWII. It very much resembles a watch of the period, probably because it was made by WALTHAM Watch Co, as indicated on the compass card. It has a brass casing, which is marked on the back R 88 C 890, most likely the contract number. The compass is fully functional, though the top crystal has a lot of small stress cracks and
