This is a very good condition genuine Burnside Rifle Company Model 1865 Spencer Repeating Carbine, which we have not had an example of in some time. It shows honest wear consistent with use service, and looks to have been relatively well taken care of. It is still in the original rimfire caliber, and was not later converted to take centerfire ammunition. Carbines such as these saw extensive use during the Indian Wars
