Called in German a Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, this genuine badge is constructed of silvered zinc. Over time, the silvering very often wears flakes away, leaving the zinc alloy to oxidized and turn gray. This example still retains about 20% of the original silvering on the obverse, while the reverse is missing all the silvering, and the steel pinback retains the plating quite well. The design consists of an
