This is, without a doubt, the best condition Springfield Rifled Musket we have ever handled, including all of the various models we have had. We daresay that it must have been a pattern or example gun, as we honestly can see very little evidence that it was ever used. A truly excellent example, it even comes with an original leather sling, as well as a wooden "tompion" barrel plug. The Springfield Model 1863 rifled
