This is a very niche model of sword, an Italian 1888 Cavalry Officers sword. This sword dates to the Pre World War I period. Overall condition is fair, with heavy wear to the hilt and blade, with the blade appearing to have been worn down on one side, as the etching appears to be missing one end. The blade decoration is tremendous and quite detailed, and there is a makers marking, although it is far too worn to read.
