This is an excellent example of an unissued M1910 hand axe that would be considered new old stock. These light duty axes were issued to each and every field medic and one per infantry squad. They were issued with an OD green cover and worn on the web belt. The most common encountered examples were made by the well known Plumb, while this one is the scarcer American Fork & Hoe made. The axe is in wonderful condition
